LIOCAT® 29

Tin octoate (II) in a clear liquid form, soluble in most organic solvents and polyols, insoluble in alcohol and water, was developed and formulated to be a highly reactive catalyst for the manufacture of polyurethane foams by the "one shot" method.

LIOCAT® 29 presents a catalytic effect also in the expansion reaction of isocyanate with water.

The use of LIOCAT® 29 allows a more uniform foam production and with greater resistance to heat and oxidation, thus obtaining the controlled characteristics from the formation of molded foams.

Applying LIOCAT® 29 as a catalyst, its use percentage can be lower, only 0.,2 – 0.,4 parts per 100 parts of polyol, resulting in a more economical foam cost. However, the amount of LIOCAT® 29 must be measured with precision and kept constant, to avoid different results between one foam production and another.
